abstract = "Background and Purpose: To evaluate health fair budgets and human resources, and to analyze participants' characteristics, motivation, themes of interests and level of satisfaction. Methods: Research methods included direct observation, file analyses and questionnaire survey. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire. Results: A total of 2,138 subjects were recruited. Results revealed that the district health centers were the most important information sources. The major motivation for participation was to obtain health-related information. Health screening was the most popular theme. Among the subjects, 91% felt satisfied and 81% considered the activities to be better than expected. It was also noted that 96% of subjects expressed their willingness to recommend similar health education activities to others. Approximately 300 personnel were involved in each health fair. On average, it cost NT$298 per participant. There was a significant gender difference in themes of interest. Conclusion: The community-wide health fairs were successful in attracting participants. There was a significant gender difference in interesting themes.",
