摘要

Background : Prevention of bleeding and arthropathy is a major goal in the hemophilia A treatment. Coagulation factor VIII prophylaxis treatment is considered as an effective treatment regimen in the prevention of bleeding and long- term arthropathy in children or adults with severe hemophilia A. Aims : This retrospective study compared the treatment- efficacies of intermediate- dose secondary/tertiary prophylaxis with those of epi-sodic on- demand therapy among the same cohort of patients with severe hemophilia A. Methods : Twe nt y- eight severe hemophilia A patients, aged 4- 56 years, were enrolled since 2014. Their treatment regimen was switched from on- demand therapy to prophylaxis therapy during the study period. We analyzed annual bleeding rate, annual joint bleeding rate, amount of factor consumption in the studied patients before and after treatment program switch, and quality of life as-sessment during the study period.
