abstract = "Recent studies have indicated that retroviruses can integrate into and mutate the genomes of herpesviruses during co-infection. This interaction has the potential to change the host range and pathogenicity of both viruses and result in novel infectious agents and diseases. This phenomenon also allows genetic material to be exchanged between these viruses and their hosts.",
