摘要

Author’s Response:First of all, we would like to thank Professor Moura ̃oand Professor Lowenstein for providing constructive com-ments and suggestions regarding the blood collection andanalytic method of rabbit platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in ourrecent article published inAJSM.To prepare rabbit’s PRF, the animals were first put intoan acrylic restraint box and their ear’s marginal veins wereexposed. A 23-gauge scalp vein set was then carefullyinserted and blood was collected. Occasionally, only 4 mLof blood could be collected, and we would pool 2 tubes ofblood together before sending the blood for centrifugation. We do find that the blood flow from the ear’s vein is slow, and sometimes failure to draw sufficient blood or clot for-mation may occur. Therefore, we are now developinga new manner of blood collection by drawing blood fromthe jugular vein through an ultrasound-guided method tofurther improve the efficiency of preparing PRF.
