摘要

Rhinolith is an uncommon and often asymptomatic condition, which may be found during routine physical examination, or noticed incidentally on radiographs. If undetected for many years, rhinolith may grow large enough to cause nasal obstruction and distortion or destruction of surrounding structures. Rhinolith has been reported to occur more frequently in female and the predominant site of formation is in the lowerhalf of the nasal cavity. Usually, it consists of chiefly calcium and magnesium carbonate and phosphate. A 23 year-old lady was referred by a local medical doctor for evaluation of a large irregular, mineral mass in the left nasal cavity. The mass was removed after the 4% Lidocaine spray. After careful separation, there was a plastic ball embedded within this mass. The patient has good prognosis after four-month follow-up.
