摘要

Continuous monitoring of fluids in medical tubing is desired for point-of-care clinical diagnostics. In this work, we incorporate a nanostructured surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor into flexible tubing commonly used for intravenous drug delivery and urinary catheters. We investigate the detection of promethazine (pain medication) and urea (common metabolite found in urine) as model systems for continuous in-line monitoring.
