title = "Maxillary Implant Overdentures: A Literature Review",
abstract = "An increasing tendency of elderly patients has been reported and regarded as a caution for medical service. Especially for the edentulous patients, the standard care and treatment guide is urgently needed. A large number of edentulous patients complained of their complete dentures with lack of retention and stability. Recently, the maxillary implant overdentures have been reported to improve chewing functions and phonetics. However, there is a lack of scientific evidence to be a standard treatment protocol for the maxillary edentulous patients. Thus, the aim of this literature review was to assess the effects of implant numbers, attachment types and prosthetic design on the marginal bone loss and overdenture prognosis.",
