N2 - Alternaria is one of the genera of septate dematiaceous fungi, whose natural habit is soil and plants. It is usually a nonpathogenic agent and causes an opportunistic infection. In an unusual case, Alternaria infection occurred in the cornea with perforation. The corneal lesion was successfully treated with topical fluconazole, and the visual outcome was fairly good.
