N2 - This study is to investigate the physical proper properties of an injectable form calcium sulfate and to evaluate its osteoconductive ability in a rabbit model. The particle size was 2200±90 nm. The setting time of liquid calcium sulfate was 17.0±0.5 min. The mean compressive and bending strengths were 44.9±9.59 and 14.06±2.06 Mpa, respectively. In rabbits, a liquid calcium sulfate was injected into a 5 x 10 mm cylindrical hole at the medial femoral condyle. Complete resorption of the injectable calcium sulfate occurred by 8weeks with a ring of remodeling cancellous bone formed in the peripheral region. By 12 weeks, the calcium sulfate in the bone defect was completely absorbed and replaced by regenerated trabecular bone.
