摘要

In addition to ductal and lobular carcinomas, primary breast sarcoma represents a special type of breast cancer accounting for less than one percent of all breast malignancies. Owing to the limited number of cases presented, little experience has been had of preoperative diagnosis and some controversy exists concerning the appropriate treatment. We reported a case of a middle-aged woman with a huge breast mass. Although the preoperative presumptive diagnosis was a giant fibroadenoma, the intraoperative frozen section revealed malignant cells. The final pathology proved it to be a malignant fibrosarcoma, with negative axillary lymph node metastasis. Except forits rapid growth, little other evidence suggested its malignancy. We also reviewed the literature, focusing on the disease's presentation, the most optimal surgical treatment, and the adjuvant therapy, thus reminding ourselves of this rare disease. Although unusual, breast sarcoma should be included in the differential diagnosis of a breast lump.
