摘要

The influences of reductant concentration and platinum loading on the response, recovery time and sensitivity of Pt/Nafion® electrodes prepared by an impregnation-reduction method for detecting hydrogen were investigated. Electrodes with a Pt loading of 4.99 mg cm-2 obtained using 0.0107 M Pt(NH3)4Cl2 and 0.06 M NaBH4, showed a maximum sensitivity of 0.0744 μA ppm-1 in the H2 concentration range of 0∼4508 ppm. However, electrodes with a Pt loading of 7.40 mg cm-2 made using 0.015 M Pt(NH3)4Cl2 and 0.06 M NaBH4 showed the fastest response and recovery. Generally, both the response and the recovery time decreased with increasing hydrogen concentration. A model is proposed to illustrate the sensing phenomenon.
