摘要
Acute superior mesenteric vein (SMV) thrombosis is rare compared to acute superior mesenteric artery ischemia. We report here the case of a 90-year-old male patient who experienced severe abdominal pain in the peri-umbilical area. The presumptive diagnosis was post operation adhesive ileus. Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) imaging revealed bowel wall edema of the small bowel with a filling defect in the superior mesenteric vein. Bowel ischemia due to SMV thrombosis was diagnosed
