社區健康飲食課程及自主運動對高血脂之影響

摘要

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence on blood biochemistry, physical fitness and health behaviors of community diet control and exercise courses when used as an intervention for hyperlipidemia cases. Methods: We recruited 60 Wanshan district residents with cholesterol values of more than 240 mg/dL. Fifty-six (93.3%) of them completed the study, participating in the 12 weeks of courses targeting cardiovascular disease prevention, including diet control and exercise. Blood concentrations for total cholesterol (T-Chol), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglyceride (TG), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (CRE), and uric acid (UA) were measured at three time points, namely before the courses and at 3 and 6 months after starting the courses. In addition, physical fitness and health behaviors were assessed before the courses and after 3 months. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS, version 10.0. Results: At 3 months, the mean values for T-Chol, LDL, and TG had dropped by 19.4 mg/dL, 10.4 mg/dL, and 18.2 mg/dL, respectively. Compared with the 3-month value, the HDL value at 6 months rose by an average of 2.6 mg/dL. The percentage of participants performing exercise three times a week rose from 52% to 65%, and the percentage of participants exercising regularly rose from 54% to 75%. Conclusion: Community courses in diet control and exercise are an effective form of intervention for hyperlipidemia cases.
