We anticipate that results from this proposed study will enhance our understanding of the mechanistic interplay between testosterone metabolism, phenoconversion, and therapy response, while unraveling the therapeutic benefit of targeting the HSD17B2/HSD17B3/SHBG/SRD5A1 signaling axis in therapy-resistant (ADT, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy) advanced/unresectable or recurrent prostate cancer, thus providing a good rationale for potential clinical trials in our urological practice.
