近年來奈米科技的蓬勃發展對當今的科學與工業均產生了重大的變革,當物質尺寸逐漸微小化之後,使得其本身的物理及生化特性產生極大的變化。在醫學領域方面,許多發生在分子或是奈米層級的生物程序變異,如基因突變、蛋白質異常疊以及病毒或細菌感染導致細胞損傷或失能等皆會引起疾病發生,因此科學家希望藉由奈米層級之新興科技作為治療、修復、診斷與預防這些發生在分子層級之病變。本校”奈米醫學研究所”的設立,即是希望藉由奈米科技的突破,應用到醫學領域,並培育奈米醫學科技之跨領域研究人才。指紋
