Abstract

The animus of the article is to research the development of Jinhua (金華) Pan's family in the southern Song dynasty by the relieving activities. Pan's family whom lived in Guacang (括蒼)moved to Jinhua. There were many generation family members, including the first generation-Pan Gan (潘幹), Pan Ken (潘珂), the second generation-Zonghui (宗回) whom well-known by new Confucianism, the third generation-Jinglian (景連), Jingxian (景憲), the fourth generation-Zihou (自厚), Zimu (自牧). Several generations lived in Jinhua and built up the foundation. The family just like a prominent clan influenced the education culture and place activity of Jinhua area predominately. Lots ofjuniors not only passed through imperial examination amd became the officials but also associated with Zhu Xi (朱熹) or Lu Zuqian (呂祖謙).For a long time, the Pan's support the policy of the relieving activities especially. Pan Jingxian had tried to carry out the Jianning (建寧) social granary policy and achieved remarkable success. Accordingly, Zhu Xi Wrote a record. The policy was created by Zhu Xi in Qiandao (乾道) periods of the southern Song dynasty.Because of the participation of families and gentry, the infancy of the policy was successful. Until Chunxi (淳熙) periods, the government announced the policy. There were different specific achievements and situations. The animus of the article is to research the process of Pan's family rise by the academic communication, social network, education style, and relieving activities.
