Abstract

In facial contouring surgery, surgeons operate to change facial bone morphology and obtain esthetic feminine face. Face appearance after surgery is required to evaluate; therefore, simulations for facial bone and soft tissue procedures are both required. This study develops a soft tissue manipulation method based on volume data to simulate face peeling and healing. Integrating with our reported bone surgical simulation methods, the proposed simulator can provide high quality illustrations for the simulations of various modalities of facial contouring surgery.
