Abstract

This paper presents the pendulum motion of swinging cradle with magnetic force to make the cradle swinging quietly and smoothly. An adaptive adjustment technique is applied for swinging amplitude and frequency control with tuning ability in staircase control pattern. The merits of the adaptive control lie in the simplicity, reliability in comparison with PI method. This design uses an angular feedback to form a closed-loop control system so that the swinging amplitude and frequency is fit in the ranges between 0.18°- 3.6° and 0.4-1.0Hz. Experimental data are collected to show the feasibility and good performance.
