Abstract

A nucleic acid fragment containing a RNA trimer and a DNA heptamer wich are linked by a 3′‐5′‐internucleotide phosphodiester bond has been synthesized by a phosphotriester approach. The sequence of the nucleosides is such that they will form a self‐complementary double‐helical fragment which may serve as a probe to get more insight into the process of discontinuous DNA replication.
