Abstract

By using a monoclonal antibody HS-63 vs. human acrosome and a secondary antibody conjugated with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), it was demonstrated that two sperm motility inhibitors, SMI1 and SMI2, reduced the frequency of the spontaneous acrosome reaction; frequency of the spontaneous acrosome reaction in the control group was 11.7±1.8% (n=7), and in the SMI1-treated and the SMI2-treated groups 6.6±1.1% (P<0.05 vs. control, n=7) and 5.2±1.0% (P<0.01 vs. control, n=7), respectively.
