abstract = "Novel roughness-controlled mannitol/LB Agar microcarriers with nanorod-covered surface were synthesized by polymorphic transformation and self-assembly method using hexane as the polymorphic transformation reagent and spray-dried mannitol/LB Agar microparticles as the starting material. With the size and amount of nanorods increasing, the surface roughness of the microparticles increase. An increase in the particle surface roughness can result in a better aerosolisation performance.",
