Abstract
The timing of postprocedure care for transfemoral angiography in the radiological departments in Taiwan region were 12.25 hours in the major medical centers and 11.25 hours in region hospitals respectively [10]. We compared the effect of postprocedure care with 12 hours and 4 hours in order to reassess the feasibility of shortening such timing. The incidences of subcataneous ecchymosis and subcataneous hematoma were rare and slightly higher in the group of 12 hours in compared to the group of 4 hours. Four hours of bed rest after complete hemostasis is good enough to prevent majority of these minor complications. Therefore, the timing of postprocedure care for transfemoral angiography and limitation of patient activity are feasible to shorten to 4 hours. Thus the inconvenience of the patient and the loading of nursing care can all be improved.
