Abstract

Polytomography of sella turcica in 959 cases were reviewed and measured in order to establish the standard of sella turcica in Chinese. In female, 95.5% were ovoid in shape and that of the male were 95.6%. J-shape sella was very rare (0.3% in both sexes respectively). Flat and concave upward contributed for 3/4 cases of pituitary floor in both female and male. Septum or septa of the sphenoid sinus was noted in 91.1% of cases. The sellar volume in female was 704 ± 183mm^3 and that of the male was 668 ± 183mm^3 with statistic significance.
