Abstract

In fuzzy relation-based data model, a membership function is used to represent the degree of a set membership for a fuzzy linguistic term, that is, an attribute value. This paper presents a method to define the membership function for a linguistic term in the integrated FOB via the combination of the membership functions defined for the same linguistic term in FDBs to be integrated. This method comprises the fuzzy addition and fuzzy multiplication as well as the weighted opinion. And thus, it is practical on the application of the integration of FDBs.
