Abstract

Two new ellagitannin dimers, cuphiins D1 and D2, and six known compounds including oenothein B and woodfordin C have been isolated from the aerial part of Cuphea hyssopifolia (Lythraceae). Macrocyclic structures of the new tannins were elucidated based on chemical and spectral evidence.
