Abstract
A lipoma is rarely observed in the parotid gland. It occurs in 0.5% to 1.2% of all parotid tumors. Because of its rarity, it is difficult to diagnose in an initial patient visit. We present a case of a 43-year-old man whose chief complaint was a right side infra-auricular mass which grew slowly over 2 years. After surgical removal, the pathology revealed it to be a parotid lipoma. No evidence of recurrence was found after 15 months of follow-up.
