Abstract
We read with great interest the article by Roth et al. titled “Optimal hemoglobin A1C target in diabetics undergoing elective cervical spine surgery.” This study is an important breakthrough in the search to optimize hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) levels for patient-oriented outcomes in elective cervical spine surgery. However, we would like to raise some concerns that will correct flaws and lead to improvements in this visionary study.
