Abstract

Learning content is one of important components for e-Learning. It is a bridge between instructors and learners. In order to facilitate production of the learning content an easy to use and powerful authoring system is indispensable. SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model) has been one of the most common e-Learning standards for reuse of learning objects. This paper presents a web-based, SCORM-compliant authoring system to support collaboration on development of a courseware involving more than one instructor. Through centralized coordination and management of learning objects, the system can maintain the consistency and integrity of the courseware. Since it is web-based and the developed learning objects are centralized in a common repository, the system can facilitate the courseware development, and provide more flexibility and portability.
