Abstract
In this paper, we examine the relationship among financial literacy, savings behavior, and retirement planning in Taiwan. We not only find people who are more financially knowledgeable are more likely to plan for retirement but also find those who have stronger savings habits are more likely to plan for retirement. In most specifications we find a stronger role for savings habits than financial illiteracy in explaining retirement planning.
