Abstract

Biosorption of cadmium was investigated using the Aspergillus niger fungus. A pseudo-second order kinetic expression for the adsorption systems of divalent metal ions was developed using sphagnum moss peat. The pseudo-second order rate expression was also applied to the sorption of metal ions, dyes, and organic substances from aqueous solutions. The reaction order of the such as a comparison of chemisorption kinetic models and pseudo-second order models was also discussed.
