Abstract

Cherubism is a rare hereditary fibro-osseous disease involving both jaws. It usually becomes noticeable in childhood but begins to regress spontaneously after puberty. Familiarity with the characteristic radiographic appearance, the site and extent of the lesion, the affected age and the natural course of this disease can avoid unnecessary surgical intervention in a little child unless esthetic or functional consideration is concerned. Herein we present a sporadic case and review the literature.
