Abstract

The paper compares the tensile strength and absorption energy of sharp transected rabbit Achilles tendon after conservative treatment and surgical treatment. Forty-two male New Zealand rabbits were used in the study. They were divided into seven groups. Group I was the control group. Group II, IV and VI were the conservative treatment groups. Group III, V and VII were the surgical treatment groups. Conservative treatment groups were treated by casting only while the surgical treatment groups were treated by primary suture and cast.
