Abstract
The use of antithrombogenic oxide film on stainless steel for cardiovascular applications is discussed. Research shows that an amorphous oxide film is useful for surface protective film of a cardiovascular device. Results show that amorphous oxide film possesses very low corrosion rates, high scratch-resistant, lower open-circuit potential (OCP), negative current density at open-circuit potential, higher value of time constant and lower degree of thrombosis. These advantages provide amorphous oxide film to be the suitable candidate for surface protective film of cardiovascular device.
