Anomalous origin of the superior intercostal artery from the vertebral artery: A case report and literature review

Abstract

Anomalous origin of the superior intercostal artery from the vertebral artery is an uncommon anatomic variation. We present the characteristic angiographic findings of such an anomaly in a young woman. The literature is reviewed and the angiographic significance of this finding is discussed.
