Abstract
Animation deformity is a common reason for revision aesthetic breast surgery. Animation can occur with submuscular implant placement, and the authors present a prospective, quantitative analysis of animation along with a proposed classification system. The central tenet of correcting animation or dynamic implant malposition involves a pocket change to a subglandular position. Understanding the anatomic and functional causes of animation deformity can provide insight into suboptimal outcomes and guide revision strategies.
