Abstract
We examined a 40-year-old male paint worker with migratory joint pain and erythematous-indurated skin lesions over his palms and soles. Hypercalcemia and lymphocytosis with convoluted or indented nuclei were found. The skin biopsy confirmed leukemic infiltration. Skin tests with PHA, PPD and candida extracts were all negative. Surface marker studies of leukemic cells showed OKT3 94%, OKT4 94%, OKT8 4% and OKT9 94%. The serological findings by an indirect fluorescence method with KH-2 cell line were positive in the patient and his wife. Clinically, the patient had a relatively poor response to chemotherapy and died eight months after diagnosis. The entire presented picture was similar to ATL.
