Abstract
On the basis of the fundamental principle of thermodynamic economics an analysis was performed of the working media transport process in a thermodynamic pipeline. As a result, obtained was an equation for calculating the annual total expenses allotted to the thermodynamic pipeline. Through an analysis of the effect on the above-cited annual total expenses of such factors as the thermodynamic pipe diameter and thermal insulation layer thickness the authors have come up with a new design method for the thermodynamic pipeline and its thermal insulation layer, the so-called synchronization design method. In addition, to lower the annual cost of transporting the working media in the pipeline, a formula has been proposed to calculate the optimal dimensions of the pipe diameter and thermal insulation thickness. The foregoing can serve as helpful reference data for relevant engineering design purposes.
