Abstract

"Patient safety" is the most important part in medical care. In 2003, Department of Health in Taiwan required TJCHA (Taiwan Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation and Quality Improvement) to develop a "Taiwan Patient-safety Reporting system (TPR)" in order to uphold safety in a medical environment and to ensure the quality of medical services. The goal of the TPR is to collect patient safety incidences and to establish a mechanism to prevent medical errors from happening. In this paper we present the design of a patient safety promulgation procedure with the concept of workflow for clinical process in nursing department in order to make patient safety reporting system more efficient between different departments in a hospital.
