Abstract
The animus of the article is to research Jiang Gong-wang's(江公望) thought and the development of scholars' network in the southern Song dynasty. Jiang's composition, the definition about nature of mind, was compiled into Zhu Ru Ming Dao (諸儒鳴道). His composition used some Buddhism word and thought. Some modern researchers need to use one chapter to discuss him. After all, we did not know about him and his composition. The aim of the article not only focuses on his life in network of Song's scholars, but also rebuilds his image by comprehension of Song people. We further try to understand his composition through his life. As a result, we understand Jiang's definition about nature of mind. He interpreted 「nature of mind 」,「nature of character」and developed one kind of cultivating way(繫心). Meanwhile, we compare Jiang and Wang An-shi's thought and figure out the relationship between Jiang and Buddhism. Base on this research, we could reflect the scholars' discussion, including the theme, the statement, and the evolvement in Confucian school of philosophy of Song dynasty. We could observe the situation in detail in the period from the end of northern Song dynasty to the prime of Southern Song dynasty.
