Abstract
The primary purpose was to explore the self-phenotype of 8 schizophrenic patients and their spouses who participated in an outpatient couple group psychotherapy and the presentation of their intrapsychic process in group context. Two major construct categories were identified by content analysis: ego transformation processing and affect bonding processing. Each behavioral unit consisted of these two construct categories. These results may be used to enhance family group clinical professionals' sensitivity in understanding the reactive behavior between the individual subject and the group object.
