Abstract
Posterior crossbite is a common malocclusion in the deciduous or mixed dentition. Various techniques of posterior crossbite correction have been suggested, including rapid maxillary expansion, slow expansion with a quad-helix appliance or removable expansion plate, grinding, and composite onlay. The aim of this article is to review the fabrication, clinical adjustment, advantages and disadvantages, and functions of the quad-helix appliance.
