Abstract
Safe contrast medium administration is very important to patients' safety, and therefore, radiology department should pay high attention on this issue. The aim of this brief review is to discuss the safe contrast administration in radiological examination process, including iodinated contrast medium induced extravasations, allergy, and nephrotoxicity via intravenous route; gadolinium induced nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, attention information on other contrast medium or medications. Safety considerations of contrast medium administration before examinations can prevent or reduce complications.
