Abstract

The effectiveness of increasing patients' satisfaction of hospice care between ”Hospice Palliative Care Model” and ”Hospice Shared Care Model” deserves to be investigated. This study sampled two different groups (shared hospice care patients, N=122; hospice ward patients, N=101) in a medical hospital. All patients filled in ”Hospice Care Level of Satisfaction Scale” to fulfill the above research goal. The results showed higher level of care satisfaction in two groups. Moreover, ”shared hospice care patients” demonstrated significantly higher level of life satisfaction than those of ”hospice ward patients.” The results of this study implied that both models of hospice caring are benefits to teminal-cacer patients. Furthermore, this study suggested that ”Hospice Shared Care Model” is a workable model in the field of palliative care in the near future.
