Abstract

Based on the Book of Rites, this paper is to explore the program of moral education through the dramatic rites and ceremonies to exercise role modeling and to analyze the learning actions of role modeling coded in the rites and ceremonies, the dynamic construction of theatre-in-education and the ethics meaning of this kind of moral education program. The moral role modeling program through and in the dramatic rites is not only unconscious incorporation of observes behaviors but also active observation of role model, active exploration of affect and value, and active practice of embodied moral techniques and dramatic rehearsal.
