Abstract
The use of 3C network products is becoming more and more serious. The study aims to explore the correlation between screen use behaviors, sleep quality, and psychosocial adaptation in pre-school children. This study is a cross-sectional study design. Participants were recruited from seven public and private kindergartens in Taipei. Independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation analysis were used to detect different basic attributes on screen use time, sleep quality and psychosocial adaptation. Results showed that the total screen time of preschool children was 1.3 hours/day, about 1 hour/day on weekdays, 2.2 hours/day on holidays. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between parental and child screen use time. There is a significant positive correlation between the use time of children's screens and the difficulty of falling asleep, respiratory distress and psychosocial adaptation behavior. The results of this study provide schools and parents with a better understanding of the relationship between screen use time of preschool children and sleep quality, and psychosocial adaptation. It is expected that appropriate interventions will be added in the future to reduce the use of screens for preschool children.
