Abstract

In this case report, the patient was a young girl with multiple odontomas. She came to our hospital first time when she was four years old. Because surgical removal of partial tumors was denied by her family, conservative treatment was lasted for few years. When she was twelve years old, her face became asymmetry resulted from hyperplasia of right maxillary tumors. Thus, her family agreed with surgical removal of partial tumors under general anesthesia. Two months after the surgery, the complete dentures were fabricated. She has normal chewing, pronunciation function and esthetics. Besides, the patient accepted right hemicolectomy due to hyperplasia of interstitial cells of Cajal in the colon when she was three years old. In the literatures, there have been cases of multiple odontomas combined with esophageal stenosis resulted from hyperplasia of interstitial cells of Cajal. Therefore, the relationships between multiple odontomas and hyperplasia of interstitial cells of Cajal in gastrointestinal tract was discussed furtherly.
