Translated title of the contribution: LIS Professionals and the Knowledge Management

Abstract

The era of knowledge economy has come, and knowledge has become a key resource for improving the competitiveness of an enterprise. As a result, Knowledge Management (KM) becomes the most important strategy of business administration in the 21st century. Among all the LIS professionals, corporate librarians are most affected by KM. This article begins with the transformation of information services and special librarians' roles, followed by the clarification between KM and information management. Lastly, the author explains how LIS professionals apply their competencies and skills to the filed of KM. It is the author's hope to present some useful information for practitioners and LIS students interested in KM.
