Using Genomic Database to Explore the Treatment Target of Pancreatic Cancer and Possible Drugs

Project: A - Government Institutionb - National Science and Technology Council

Project Details

Description

Pancreatic cancer is not a common cancer type but with a high mortality rate. The incidence rate in Taiwan is getting higher by years. The treatment of metastatic pancreatic cancer has several difficulties including worse quality of life, few treatment choice and limited treatment efficacy. Using bioinformatics method is a novel method to explore the disease treatment targets. In the study, we will recruit pancreatic cancer related genes from literature review and then perform functional annotations to select the biological risk genes. We will use drug target database to investigate the possible drugs which can target on the biological risk genes. Finally, we will construct computerized program to validate the data and to be a tool for drug discovery in the future.
