本研究探討粒線體衍胜肽 (mitochondrial derived peptides) 是否增加細胞的能量生合成及減少突變mtDNA的含量。了解這些粒線體衍胜肽可能釐清是粒線體與細胞核的通訊,提供保護粒線體功能及選擇性去除細胞中的缺失mtDNA的可行性。希望能藉由了解粒線體衍胜肽的分子調節機制,進而做為開發未來的粒線體靶向療法,以防止致病性mtDNA突變的擴增與傳遞。
