Project Details

Description

Dental treatment, dental pieces and scaling machine in the mouth, will produce aerosol droplets, prone to the risk of cross contamination, and wear a dental mask can effectively block flying wipe mist, reducing cross contamination. However, commercially available dental facial mask tradition and more usually made of polymer materials (such as plastics), with easy buildup aerosol droplets, attachment of bacteria and viruses, and reduce operational perspective, problems of infection control. The main purpose of this study was to develop surface modification on dental facial mask and to realize the properties change for improvement of its shortcomings. In this study, we emphasized on the Infection control for the dental facial mask after its surface treatment. In this study, a template produced by pure aluminum piece with anodized production (concave) through the nanoimprint process fabricating nanostructures (convex) on the surface of dental facial mask, resulting in surface modification of dental facial mask. The different nanoimprint process parameters (e.g. embossing temperature, embossing pressure, embossing time and de-molding temperature) are used to produce nanostructures on the surface of dental facial mask. This research will analyze and discuss the change of the dental facial mask properties (e.g. Young's modulus, hardness, surface properties, water absorption, expansion, and color stain) between before and after the surface modification. The use of the material surface nanostructures changes their hydrophilic nature, reduce the extent of the destruction of water molecules on the molecular chain, and analyze their hydrophilicity and optical penetrating observation saliva and extent of microbial attachment, in order to get a hydrophobic, does not affect the light wear permeability and comply with infection control of dental mask.
